Blog Page

Welcome to the Eastford Elementary School Blogging Page!

Staff members sometimes choose to set up blogs so that parents and/or students can comment on curricular topics or matters of public interest. Some of the blogs require a password and others do not. Sometimes the blogs are set up so that the staff has to review comments before they are available to the public and others are designed so that feedback can be viewed immediately. Feel free to contact the school office if you have any questions about the subjects being discussed in blogs.

  1. Thanksgiving Feast
  2. Newsletter Comments
The 2010-2011 School Year was the first year that the school newsletter was distributed via email rather than being printed on paper. We did print paper copies for those families that did not have an email address on file at the school. In addition to the emailed copy of the newsletter, it has been suggested that the newsletter be posted on the school's website. In previous years, parents have been concerned about posting the newsletter online because we sometimes have student names and pictures in the newsletter. What are your current feelings about posting the newsletter on the school's website?
  3. Blog On It
Blog On It is a safe place for opinions, suggestions and discussion about what's good to read in grade 8
  4. Fun Tech for Teachers!
If I find something useful or fun I'll post it here. Feel free to post something that you'd like to share, as well. The more, the merrier!
  5. Health Happenings!
Discussion, response, opinions on current health related articles and news stories.
  6. Readiness Program (Preschool) Parent Communication
  7. Español
This is a blog for Spanish topics - sometimes we will speak Spanish, and sometimes we will speak ABOUT Spanish! When time allows, we will blog together in class, but you may post to any topic at any time (yes, even ahora mismo - right now)! Comments will be approved before they are made public. Let's go! ¡Vamos!
  8. Blue Bird Habitat Project (4/13/10)
Students in Grades 5 and 6 constructed birdhouses that are the correct size for bluebirds. Our goal is to provide habitats so that bluebirds will return to our school yard and raise their young here. Each birdhouse is registered with the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection, and our houses are part of a much larger state-wide project. We will collect data and record it here. Please check out the birdhouses and this blog regularly to see what develops. EACH HOUSE HAS ITS OWN POST. TO ADD INFO ABOUT A HOUSE, PLEASE CHOOSE A SPECIFIC HOUSE POST BELOW AND ADD A COMMENT. THANKS. WE LOOK FORWARD TO YOUR INPUT!!
