Readiness Council Over sees the Preschool Program at the Eastford Elementary School

The Eastford Readiness Program recently received it's accreditation from NAEYC...National Association for the Education of Young Children.  This is a very intensive process and we are very pleased to have obtained this recognition. Congratulations to the staff,parents and Readiness Council members who helped us achieve this goal.

The Readiness Council voted that during the 2010-2011 school year the program will operate for 3 and 4 year olds, offering two half day sessions.  The classroom capacity has been set at 12 students for the three year old's session (currently 11 slots are filled) and 14 students for the 4 year old's session (currently 9 slots filled.) Three year olds will be serviced in the morning and four year olds in the afternoon. Three year olds must be three prior to starting in the program as well as potty trained.

If you know a child who lives in  Eastford and was born in 2006 or 2007 please have them register with the school.  Currently there is no cost for half day programing.  Registration forms are available on the school website,under documents.

The next Readiness Council Meeting is September 13th at 6:30PM at The Eastford School. Public is welcome.
