Fall is here!  Please mark your calendars for October.  The EIFC is pleased to announce two upcoming events.  We'd like to see you there.

Our second "All You Can Eat" Steak Supper of the season is Saturday, October 17th beginning at 6:30 at the firehouse.  The menu is "top grade" steak, special green beans, baked potatoes, green salad, rolls, dessert and beverage.  The cost is $20.00 per dinner.  Tickets can be purchased from any member or call John Paquin at 860-974-0256 or Jeannine Spink at 860-974-1678.  Only 150 tickets are available.

The company has scheduled an OPEN HOUSE for Sunday, October 25th from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.  Come and visit your company.  There will be much to learn!  See our fleet of apparatus and equipment, "goodies" for the children, demonstrations, FREE green house number signs and much more!

On a different note, it is said "all good things must come to an end".  So it is for our annual Chicken BBQ.  For forty years, the BBQ was a department-sponsored event critical to supplement our operating budget, in addition to strengthening public relations between the town and the company.

Unfortunately, ticket sales have dramatically decreased over the last few years, as have our profits.  In the early years we often sole 800 plus dinners, resulting in healthy profits.  This last 2015 BBQ barely reached the 300-dinner mark.  When considering the amount of time spent by the volunteers selling tickets, ordering supplies, shopping, cooking the chicken which is an all day process, preparing the dinners for pick up, securing the firehouse after the event for a possible emergency, combined with escalating costs of products, sponsoring this event no longer is financially worth while.

Thank you to the patrons who have consistently supported our BBQ through the years.  We hope that our steak dinner ticket sales will be sustained or increased to help us remain fiscally responsible for the operation of the company.

    THANK YOU!
