It was nice to see so many families participate in the Virtual Open House! Please continue to fill out and return forms to school; the orientation questionnaire and nutrition questionnaire are very helpful in allowing me to get to know your preschooler.
Here in preschool, we have been busy getting to know each other and learning about our classroom. We have been learning a group time song about ‘eyes watching, ears listening, voices quiet, and bodies calm’. We have been talking about healthy choices, including LOTS of handwashing, drinking lots of water, eating many fruits and vegetables, as well as exercise and rest!
We will also have physical education (PE) on Wednesday, and Friday, so please ensure your preschooler is wearing or sent in with sneakers so they can participate in all activities.
I am happy to say that almost every child has a spare set of clothes and rest materials. The rest materials will be sent home at the end of each week for you to wash and return fresh for snuggling on Monday!
Each month you will receive a Scholastic Book Club flyer for purchasing new books. Please complete your orders, either online or by returning the form, by September 16. It can also be accessed online at https://orders.scholastic.com/LXGBQ
Just a reminder: communication between home and school will be primarily through email and then through the Seesaw program once we get set up. Also, beginning September 14 we will have Remote Learning Mondays where the children will come together via Zoom for a group Story Time at 9:30am. If your family is interested in a device for remote learning, please complete the forms and return ASAP so an iPad can be prepared for you. Thank you!
The Connecticut Office of Early Childhood is seeking information from families of children birth through age 12 about their child care experiences. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the availability of care has changed. Many families’ needs regarding care have changed as well. The information gathered through this survey can help OEC address challenges facing families and early childhood programs in our state. Thank you! The survey takes approximately 20 minutes, and families who take the survey are entered to win a $100 electronic gift card! English survey (click link to complete survey)
