This year, we will be celebrating reading in a special way: after reading a book with your preschooler, encourage him/her to draw a picture about the story and label their drawing. They can bring it in to school for a special sticker and an opportunity to share it with the class. I’m excited to see what everyone is reading!
We will have snack time each morning and afternoon, in addition to lunchtime. In an attempt to make food consistent, here is a strongly suggested list of healthy snacks you can send to school with your child. Providing these can help children get the variety of nutrients necessary for healthy growth and development. We hope this makes it easier for you as you are packing snacks for your child.
Drinks: Milk, 100% Juice and Motts for Tots, Water
Dairy: string cheese, yogurt, cottage cheese, vanilla pudding
Fruits/Vegetables: apples, pears, clementines, bananas, blueberries, grapes (sliced), strawberries, applesauce, fruit cups, carrot sticks, celery sticks, cucumber slices
Dry goods: graham crackers, cereal (cheerios or other non-sugary cereals), crackers, cheese crackers, rice cakes, dried fruit
