Important Information and Links

It is with great pleasure that I begin my time here in Eastford as Director of Pupil Services. I have worked closely with the former director, Mary Jo Chretien, and staff this summer to ensure a smooth transition for all families and students. My background includes 16 years of teaching special education, 16 years as a building administrator, and 7 years working at the post secondary level teaching teachers. My role here at Eastford includes oversight of special education programs for students age 3 through 21.  As Director of Pupil Services, I will attend Planning and Placement Team meetings for all students who do not EES as well as some of those who do attend ESS.

As of July 1, 2022,  the State of Connecticut implemented a new data /recording system, called CT-SEDS, for students receiving special education / 504 support services. As a result, the paperwork will look different, and we will work with you to explain such changes.  Included here are links with useful information for families.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have regarding our services for your child.

Our core in-house Pupil Services/Special Education Team includes:

  • Special Education Teachers Mrs. Kopplin (PK), Mrs. Moran, and Ms. Volpe
  • Speech/Language Pathologist Mrs. Mauer
  • School Counselor Mrs. Murana
  • Occupational Therapist Ms. Devon Rogers and Physical Therapist Dr. Ferron (contracted through EASTCONN)

Throughout the pandemic, meetings were held through Zoom out of necessity. Going forward, we can accommodate family preference for Zoom and/or in-person participation.

Although I am part time, I will be checking my email and phone calls throughout  the week.
